Evenings of Piano Concerti

The Evenings of Piano Concerti (EPC) is NYCA's signature concert series in New York City. Quoted by critics "Once in a life-time concerts", the series always has a jam-packed audience. The EPC series has presented more than sixty piano concertos since 2006, widely ranged from J. S. Bach to the premieres of commissioned works by living composers. Engaging young talents and internationally renowned artists as concerto soloists with NYCA Symphony Orchestra under the baton of music director Eduard Zilberkant and many internationally renowned guest conductors.


The Evenings of Piano Concerti Series gives musicians rare opportunities to perform with an orchestra as a concerto soloists, to collaborate with other musicians and conductors, and to meet the wider range of audience in New York city. The unique stage setting of the series gives the audience most special musical experiences.

 

Evenings of Piano Concerti Season VII

Three finalists of 2017 NYCA Worldwide Debut audition will perform concertos with NYCA Symphony Orchestra. Semifinalists are selected from Paris, Warsaw, Cologne, Budapest, LA and NY to have recital rounds on March 7/8, and only three are selected for the final stage. The winner will be announced at the end of the concert, and will have debut concerts at Berlin Philharmonie Hall, Carnegie Zankel Hall and an album release with Steinway & Sons label.

NY Concert Artists & Associates features the winner of International Classical Music Award, a Belgian pianist Florian Noack, the winner of Rahn Musicpreise, a Hungarian pianist Benedek Horváth, a Korean pianist Hee Sung Jang, and RED trio (Klara Min, Borislav Strulev, Eric Silberger) in its Evenings of Piano Concerti Concert series. Conducted by Eduard Zilberkant, director of the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra, the NYCA Symphony Orchestra will perform four exciting concertos in this festive evening program.

Evenings of Piano Concerti Season V

May 2013 - “Evenings of Piano Concerti Season V” presented three piano concerti- evenings with NYCA Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Eduard Zilberkant and a guest conductor Miriam Burns at Good-Shepherd Church in NY city. The opening concert remarked Wagner’s Siefried Idyll commemorating the composer’s 200th anniversary, followed by the performances of NYCA pianists Javor Bračić (Winner of NYCA’s Carnegie Debut Recital Audition), Kyu Yeon Kim and Spencer Myer. The Winner’s evening featured Jingyi Zhang (Winner of the 3rd International Concerto Competition), Saskia Giorgini and Jeanette Aufiero (Winners of the 2012 Rising Artists Presentation) and a guest pianist Alessio Bax, performing piano concerto by Beethoven, Rachmaninoff and Liszt.
The Winner’s evening concert was broadcast at WQXR’s Young Artists Showcase hosted by Robert Sherman.

Evenings of Piano Concerti Season IV

May through June 2012 - “Evenings of Piano Concerti Season IV” presented four piano concerti- evenings with NYCA Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Eduard Zilberkant and guest conductors, Vince Lee and Kazuo Kanemaki. The season opened its concert with NYCA artists’ evening, followed by a Winner’s evening and two Rising Artists evenings. The Winner’s evening presented Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 4, Chopin Piano Concerto No. 2 and Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 3 by Alexei Tartakovski (Winner of NYCA’s International Concerto Competition), Yoonie Han and Wael Farouk (Winner of NYCA’s Rising Artists Presentation). Other piano concertos have been included Saint-Saens, Grieg, Mendelssohn, Mozart and Schumann by featured Rising Artists.
The Winner’s evening concert was broadcast at WQXR’s Young Artists Showcase hosted by Robert Sherman.

Evenings of Piano Concerti Season III

April through May 2010 - "Evenings of Piano Concerti Season III" was held at Good-Shepherd Church, Merkin Concert Hall and Consulate General of Poland in New York. Six piano-concerti evenings were presented with the invited Manhattan Chamber Orchestra under the baton of guest conductors Ken-David Masur, David Gilbert, Richard Auldon Clark and NYCA conductor Eduard Zilberkant. NYCA Artists Concert as an opening evening, two Winner's Concerts and three Rising Artists' Concerts were presented. This season has also included performances of two Chopin concertos and Schumann concerto to celebrate the composers' 200th birth year, one of which performed by Piotr Paleczny. The season opened its concert with four NYCA artists Klara Min, Alexandre Moutouzkine, Daniele Rinaldo and Quentin Kim, and Winner's evenings have included pianists Spencer Myer, Minsoo Sohn and NYCA's 1st International Concerto Competition winner, Anastasia Dedik.

Evenings of Piano Concerti Season II

October through November 2008 - "Evenings of Piano Concerti Season II" was held at Good-shepherd Church in New York. Six piano concerti-evenings were presented with Manhattan Chamber Orchestra under the theme Brahms, Beethoven, French/Belgian/English, Viennese, Contemporary/Premiere and American/American-influenced. For this season, notable performances were two consecutive Brahms concerti by James Tocco, NY premiere performance of a concerto by English composer, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and a concerto by American composer, John Corigliano.

Evenings of Piano Concerti Season I

September through December 2007 - "Evenings of Piano Concerti Season I" was held at the Yamaha Salon & Good-shepherd Church in New York. Eight piano concerti-evenings were presented with Manhattan Chamber Orchestra under the theme Bach, Haydn, Beethoven, Premieres of Contemporary Concertos and Chopin/Schumann/Mendelssohn. For this season, three new piano concertos were premiered, composed by a German composer, Reiko Fueting, and two American composers, Henry Martin and Robert Sirota. Performers were invited worldwide.

Mozart 25 Piano Concerti – Commemorating Mozart’s 250th Birth Year

February through March 2006 - "Mozart 25 Piano Concerti – Commemorating Mozart’s 250th Birth Year." Eight keyboard concerti-evenings were co-presented with Yamaha Artists Services, Inc. with New York Sinfonietta. For this season, Mozart’s all 25 keyboard concertos were performed by notable pianists.

Soirée des Artistes is a revival of the 19th century salon concerts, providing the most intimate stages for the artists and the audience. Soirée d'Artistes takes places at the houses of patrons with wine and food in the most relaxed setting of listening music.

NYCA's vision is to expand Soirée d'Artistes to Europe and Asia as well to have local and cross-continent artists, so that we provide the audience the variety of cultural experiences by meeting musicians from many nations in the most intimate setting.

Great Musicians Master Class Series

NYCA presents master classes by world-renowned professors and pianists to educate pre-college and college students in the open lessons to the public.

NYCA has presented professors from Chopin University in Warsaw, Basel Academy in Switzerland, Cologne University in Germany and the prestigious International Como Academy in Italy. Great Musicians Master Class Series provides music students opportunities to play for the variety of musical forerunners and to acquire wider musical experiences.
